Gaines’Oldham Black Culture Center (GOBCC)

-The Gaines/Oldham Black Culture Center (GOBCC) is built on the firm foundation of

legacy, unity and resilience. It strives to build community and a sense of belonging, and

strengthen the history and experiences of Black culture. Established in 1972, the GOBCC

amplifies the rich contributions of African Americans at the University of Missouri.

- The GOBCC seeks to provide a space where all students feel supported in every area of

their college journey.

Multicultural Center (MCC)

- The Multicultural Center celebrates the rich cultural diversity of the University of

Missouri community and aims to create a vibrant space that supports cross-cultural

learning and engagement. Through thought-provoking conversations, unique

programming and social gatherings, the MCC provides a space where students can gain a

better understanding of each other’s cultural heritage and traditions.

- It’s a space that promotes a welcoming and culturally inclusive campus environment.

LGBTQ Resource Center (LGBTQ Center)

- The LGBTQ Resource Center works to foster a welcoming and inclusive environment for

members of the University of Missouri LGBTQ community members. The center serves

as a campus and community resource through the development of healthy communities,

strategic partnerships, and leadership and identity development within a culture of

celebration and inclusion.

Relational and Sexual Violence Prevention Center (RSVP Center)

- We are committed to ending interpersonal, including gender- and identity-based, violence

on our campus through education, prevention and response. Explore our website and

may have.

Women’s Center (Women’s Center)

- The Mizzou Women’s Center is an active and lively lounge on campus. The center

provides resources and educational and community-building opportunities! We serve all

University of Missouri students, faculty and staff. We collaborate with other offices and

student organizations to co-sponsor events and provide advising. Our year is full of

events that include social, cultural and educational programs that celebrate the

communities around us!

Office of Institutional Equity (Office of Institutional Equity)

- Office of Institutional Equity staff is available to listen to your concerns, help you assess

your rights and options, connect you with support resources, and more. Our office is led

by Andy Hayes, Assistant Vice Chancellor and Title IX Coordinator.

- The Office of Institutional Equity:

o enforces the university’s non-discrimination policies

o educates the community about our policies and practices

o connects people to resources that can support them if they experience

discrimination or retaliation

o listens to the concerns of the campus community

- If you experience, witness or hear about any form of discrimination or retaliation, you

can make a report. We will contact you, discuss your options and rights, and can

investigate whether university policies were violated.

- If you are concerned about privacy or do not want an investigation, we will discuss any

concerns that you might have.

- We respond to all forms of sex/gender-based incidents, including sexual assault, sexual

harassment, dating/domestic violence, stalking, and pregnancy discrimination. Mizzou

policies also prohibit discrimination on the basis of race, color, national origin, ancestry,

religion, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, age, disability, and

protected veteran status.

Office of Academic Access and Leadership Development (AALD)

- The Office of Academic Access and Leadership Development enhances MU’s ability to

engage and impact students from underrepresented and underserved populations

throughout the various stages of the K-20 pipeline thereby positively affecting student

access, development and educational and career outcomes.

TRiO Student Support Services (TRiO)

- Students who meet one of the following are encouraged to apply for TRiO Student

Support Services:

o First-Generation Student

o Documented Disability

o Financial Need

- TRiO SSS provides financial, academic and social support to aid students in achieving

college success. 

Center for Academic Success & Excellence (CASE)

- The Center for Academic Success & Excellence (CASE) supports the educational

achievement of underserved students who receive scholarships from the university

through individualized attention and cohort-based programming. CASE intentionally

recognizes students as scholars and promotes positive identity development that

contributes to retention and graduation. The center also develops and maintains strategic

partnerships with academic units to assist students as they navigate the transition into and

through college.
